Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry Receives Bronze 2020 Edison Awards

Taiwan’s III (Institute for Information Industry), a government think tank and IT research institute, recently announced that it won a bronze 2020 Edison Awards for its innovative invention for smart vehicles, the Central News Agency reported on April 9. According to III, this invention is designed to build an integrated safety warning system where RSU (Roadside Unit) and OBU (Onboard Unit) can be integrated with RFID and multiple sensing equipment such as radars and recorders to automatically detect and avoid road hazards in a V2I (Vehicle to Infrastructure) environment. This invention is jointly designed by TTIA (Taiwan Telematics Industry Association), National Taiwan University, and CECI Engineering Consulting. III currently has seven subsidiaries, including MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), Smart System Institute, Cybersecurity Technology Institute, Digital Service Innovation Institute, Digital Transformation Institute, Digital Education Institute, Science & Technology Law Institute.
